It’s BREAK!

Wahooo!

Today was the first day in forever that I actually had a “break”.  It has been amazing.

I woke up fairly late (9 o’clock)! Then, I headed to the grocery store to stock up on some goodies.

Then I went for a swim! Twice in one week…it’s a record!

Here’s what I did!

  • 1 x 1000 warmup : 400 swim, 300 pull, 200 kick, 100 swim
  • 8 x 150 on 2:20 — 4 build, 4 descend
  • 12 x 75 : odd: fast on 1:10, even: easy on 1:20
  • 10 x 50 : odd: 25 build, 25 fast; even: 25 fast, 25 build
  • 16 x 25 on :30 : 4 x { 1 x 1/2 ez, 1/2 hard
                                               1 x 1/2 hard, 1/2 ez
                                               1 ez
                                               1 hard
  • 1 x 300 cooldown
  • Total: 4300 yards

After getting my workout in, I coached.  Little did I know that after practice there was a pasta dinner for their meet tomorrow! Smile Let’s just say that the parents of my swimmers make some mighty fine cooking!  And desserts, to0!  Plus, I didn’t have to cook anything.  Woot woot!  Oh, and the fat kid that I am remembers pasta parties to be the best part of swimming.  Yep, sounds about right.

Well, I think I am going to continue on with my day of not using my brain or doing anything overly productive and watch the Holiday.

I love this movie just as I love all sappy Christmas movies Smile

Good night, sleep tight!

Do you ever just take a break and do nothing for a day?  If not, you should try it Smile

  1. Oh boy. My break is all about doing nothing. Sleeping? Check. Video games? Check.

    Congrats on the swim 😀

I absolutely love The Holiday and I had literally just realized I left it home and was going to watch it tonight too! I’m going to start stealing your workouts when I get back in the pool. I keep trying to get in but then never have a plan of what I want to do and end up doing nothing productive. Oh and yes, pasta parties were always the best part of swimming. My mom was the designated pasta cooker, she makes the best spaghetti and meatballs!

Your day sounds really relaxing. I love waking up without anything to do but to eat and sleep. Haha. 🙂

  4. It’s the best feeling to have some time off. I have a hard time doing “nothing,” but I’m definitely going to try to reserve a day over Christmas break to sit around & be lazy for a change!

  5. I love just being lazy for a day. It’s fabulous. I mostly read blogs, lay in bed and watch movies and chill. Perfect day ha. 🙂

so funny that we were both watching this movie- love it! (next time I have to stay awake for the ending haha)
also, where do you swim? The only place around me to swim is the Y and I dont want to pay to go there (or swim in 80 degree water) Just not sure how to find a pool!

  7. Great job on the swim workout! Gosh it’s been sooo long since I have been in the pool… I am quite sure I would just about sink at this point haha
And being lazy for a day is glorious! I just sit, blog, watch tv, blog, maybe bake, and read… that’s about it!
