Babywearing!

Ok guys, it looks as though my life has turned into a big old search for the best baby products.  And if you’re not ok with that, oh well.  One thing I’ve learned as a mom is that others’ opinions don’t matter.  And I’ve also learned that the best baby products should be easy to use, and simple to clean.

The Mamaway Baby Ring Sling carrier is exactly that.  I’ve tried the Ergo (which I LOVE, but it isn’t easy to throw into a diaper bag), and I’ve tried a wrap (also LOVE, but they take some time to get set up properly).  The ring sling, though, is extremely easy and quick to put on, and it can fit in my diaper bag without taking up much space at all.

Better yet, my little guy loves to be worn, and this makes it so simple. Content baby allows for a productive mommy.

The only complaint I have for Mamaway is that the package did not come with any directions for wear or cleaning.  I did find videos on how to use the sling online as well as cleaning instructions, but only after some research.

Check it out if you’re looking for something to fit your mama needs!

Healthy Baby Home Party Application!

Hey folks!

Remember that time I hosted a Happy Baby Home Party thanks to Seventh Generation? It was pretty much the most eye opening experience when it comes to the chemicals in products I have in my very own house.IMG_8356

Well, Seventh Generation is looking for new faces to host Healthy Home Parties!

Here’s a little about the process:

What is a Healthy Baby Home Party?

Seventh Generation’s home parties are powered by people like you who are focused on creating a healthy environment for the next generation. Developed with input from non-profit partner, Healthy Child Healthy World, they are a great way to get together with friends, share helpful information, and make an impact!

Healthy Baby Home Party kits are provided to all selected hosts and are filled with educational info about our environment, helpful tips, a fun game, and samples and coupons from Seventh Generation and other favorite family-friendly brands like bobble, American Meadows and Zarbee’s Naturals.

What is the Application Process?

  • Sign up at generationgood.net to join the Generation Good community, or log in if already a member.
  • Accept the Healthy Baby Home Party Application offer on your Generation Good dashboard and complete the application.
  • Applicants will be notified by mid-June if they have been selected to host a party, via an email to the email address assigned to their Generation Good member profile.
  • All selected applicants will then need to confirm their participation by accepting the Healthy Baby Home Party Mission in Generation Good and confirming their shipping address.
  • Hosting spots are open to US residents only at this time. Canadian parties are planned for later in 2016!
  • Full terms and conditions are available within Generation Good in the “Healthy Baby Home Party Application” offer.

Healthy Baby Home Party

When Seventh Generation‘s Generation Good program gave me the opportunity to host a Healthy Baby Home Party, I jumped at the chance.  What’s better than spreading the word about healthy baby products to all my baby mama friends?

IMG_8332

Seventh Generation sent me a box of goodies at no cost to me so that I could invite some friends over and spread the word about products that are free and clear of harmful chemicals and fragrances.  It all came in an awesome box…too bad Parker isn’t big enough to color yet!

When I asked all of my mommy friends for their availability, I quickly realized that I would not be able to get them all together at one time.  I decided then and there to have a traveling Healthy Baby Home Party to spread the word.  I make sure to introduce all of my mama friends to the Come Clean section of the Seventh Generation website so that they know the importance of ingredient disclosure.  Did you know there is no regulation for the ingredients listed on most household cleaning products? How are we supposed to know what’s in them if they don’t disclose these things?

We have been loving all of the products in our box, and we’ve loved playing bingo with our mama friends as we pass out the products.  The bingo game included helps encourage small changes in our lives with a big impact on our environment.  Did you know that taking off your shoes when entering the home keeps toxins out of areas and off of the floor? I know my little man is all over our floor…the less on the ground, the better!

If you’d like to get more information and some free products, join the Generation Good campaign! And follow Seventh Generation on Facebook and Twitter!

Mamas – feel free to ask me for your own bag of goodies! I have a few starter kits left, and I’m always down to play some bingo!

It’s BACK!

Yesterday was a good day.  No, a GREAT day.  A great day for what? A GREAT DAY FOR HOCKEY!

IMG_0422

Ok, ok.  Sorry.  I am not a big fan of football or baseball or basketball.  But hockey, that’s a different story.

IMG_0432

And my team WON against their biggest rival in the first game back after a longggggg lockout.

Add on top a great swim practice, a great ride, a great dinner at Olive Garden, and an amazing movie (Silver Linings Playbook), and it was a super great day.

Seriously, if you haven’t seen this movie yet, please do.  Especially if you have any background in special education or counseling or mental health.  If it wasn’t a good movie to begin with, seeing that perspective of things really made me fall in love with it.  And looking at Bradley Cooper can’t ever be a bad thing…

Hoping to carry yesterday’s greatness into today, starting with a run.  And hopefully ending with another win today! Winking smile Let’s go Pens!

Are you a hockey fan?? If so, who is your team? I can’t promise I’ll still be your friend once you tell, but I’ll consider!
