WIAW from Washington, D.C.

As I made mention on Monday, I ate some pretty spectacular things this weekend. A lot of which went unpictured, but that’s life, right?

Before the race on Saturday, I had a blueberry Clif bar, which is one of my favorite flavors.  After the race, I had some pretzels and tons of water to hold me over until brunch time.

Brunch was at Founding Farmers: one of my favorite restaurants ever.  The only bad thing I had found about the restaurant is that, if you don’t get reservations week in advanced like we did, you will wait for hours to get a table.

We started off with beignets. For those of you who don’t know what they are, basically they are fried dough covered in powdered sugar.  And at Founding Farmers, they come with chocolate, caramel, and rasperry dipping sauces.  Talk about fantastic.

Then, for brunch, I had eggs, chicken sausage, toast, and some leek hash browns.  Yummy!

Travis had some bananas foster stuffed French toast.  Believe me, I sampled it (minus the banana chunks), and it was mighty tasty.

For dinner that night, we went to the Green Turtle.  I had a pork barbeque, which I normal don’t get, but it was perfect! And afterward, of course, we went to Coldstone! I got cake batter ice cream with Reese’s cups and cookie dough.

And then, we went to brunch again Sunday morning at the Woodside Deli.  I must really have been in an egg and potato mood this weekend! Totes delicious.

Those are some of the highlights of my food this weekend.  All of which were amazing. Surprisingly, I stayed the same weight throughout the weekend.  If that’s even possible! haha

Thanks for the party, Jenn! Go to her blog to check out more awesome eats Smile
